Hold Me

I randomly heard this song on the Christian radio station the other day.
I almost flipped the station,
but this song by Jamie Grace got my attention.

It is so sweet and bubbly.
I love it!

Oo, I love the way You hold me,
You take each and everyday, make it special in some way
I love You more than the words in my brain can express
I can't imagine even loving You less
Lord, I love the way You hold me
Whoa whoa

Eat. Pray. Love.

I don't typically re-post similar content on both of my blogs, but I felt like this post applied in this blog as well as my Coffee, Culture, & Community blog.

Enjoy!

This past weekend, I watched the movie Eat. Pray. Love. with Travis and his momma. I love the essence of this movie--a woman's journey to find herself amongst people who are very different than her. I admit though that I dislike her motives to take the journey. I could not get over that she left her husband just because she didn't want to be married anymore--it was a tad selfish. It worked out for her in the end, though.

Watching the movie fed my adventure bug in a crazy way all over again. I love how she experienced Italy, India, and Bali with local people--seeing the realness of that country.

It got me thinking if I could pick my Eat. Pray. Love. countries, what would they be?

After a lot of pondering, I made my list and I wanted to share it with you:

  • First, I would go to Morocco. I LOVE Moroccan culture. It is such a hub of so many other cultures such as Spain, France, Arab, and Africa.
  • Second, I would go to India (like the movie, I know), but it is such a colorful place. There is really no other culture like it. Ever since 3rd grade, my friend Brit and I decided we wanted to go to India because it sounded cool in history class. That thought has never let only deepened by things like Slumdog Millionaire (I heart that movie!).
  • Last, I would go to Australia. I have no particular reason for the last one other than I enjoy learning about the struggle with the lost generation of aboriginals. I would love to learn more about that first hand, and the wildlife is amazing.

So those are my Eat. Pray. Love countries,

What are YOURS? :)

My First Valentine

Today is the day all about love.
This is probably one of my favorite holidays.
Many might scoff & say I like
because I HAVE a Valentine,
but this holiday is so much more than that.

It is about celebrating love
loving where you are right now,
and treasuring those close to you.

A little girl reminded of me tonight
when she walked into the coffee shop
with her daddy.

My heart stopped,
and my mind drifted to all the Daddy Daughter dates
I used to go on with my father.

I have always been a Daddy's girl.
He was my first Valentine.

GLEE Moment: Miss Independent

Glee is back...TOMORROW! I can't wait. I am getting kind of antsy for the Superbowl episode tomorrow night.

I have another Glee idea  I thought I would share in honor of its return. Love is in the air at McKinley High... at least for Brittany, Quinn, and Tina. All of them are in a weird situation of being head of heels in love in a almost irrational way. Brittany is dating Artie, and she usually doesn't stay in a relationship long. Quinn has finally given into Sam despite all the baby drama last year. And Tina is experiencing some Asian lovin' from Mike.

These three are also very talented, but they do not receive the microphone time they deserve. I think after what happened with Sectionals Brittany and Tina need a special moment.

Anyway, I think they would all be great at singing "Miss Independent" by Kelly Clarkson. It suits their voices and fits their story lines perfectly right now.

What do you think, Ryan Murphy?

I Want to Be Belle

Southwest Missouri is experiencing a "Snowpocalyse" of Biblical proportions, and I am kind of distracted with relaxation and roommate time.

My roommates and I spent the majority of the day discussing different personality types from Meyer-Briggs. I am a ENFJ (Extrovert, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judgement). I am the "teacher" or "giver". The personality test nailed me. The title of the career chapter was even "The PR Specialist". I guess I am in the right field. ;)

Essentially, I enjoy people, am a global learner, having things in their place, making decisions based on my emotions, and going with my gut. I am a good communicator but sometimes overlook my needs and can be irrational. Some famous people who have my personality type are Barack Obama (Ironically, my beau's type is the same as Michelle Obama), Abraham Lincoln, and Oprah Winfrey.

We also started doing Disney Princess Personality tests. I know, but it is a Snow Day!

I want to be Belle.

She's full of life, love, adventure, hope, dreams, intelligence, and beauty. Most info I find say she is a INFJ, but who really knows.

I love how she finds such pure joy in reading. I love to learn, but I admit I wish that I had more of a hunger for reading like her.

And we share for a love for adventure. I want so more than this provincial life. I am starting to get really excited about study abroad in Ecuador this summer...and all the adventures in between.

Do you have a favorite Disney princess? Or what is your Meyer-Briggs Personality Profile?
